Ireland

The house of Father Ted

As a fan of the TV show, it is difficult to drive in county Clare and miss this famous house. If you have more time I also suggest to spare some time in Kilfenora. Between the Vaughan’s Pub and the lovely people from the surrounding accommodation, this will definitely be a good refreshing time.

Belfast before Brexit

A last tour in Belfast before things will get more complicated. This city is a dense blend of history, culture and it just doesn’t look like that at first. Driving in town will first look “small” but the more you spend time, the more you need time to decrypts all symbols.

Seasons greetings from Cork

Busy between the school Choirs and gifts hunting, I can now wish you: Bonne Fete Caf Happy pub crawling Happy Christmas, and so on … May the end of the year be enjoyable And please spare a tree: be more creative than this 🙂

The Beara Peninsula

The the west of county Cork, the Beara Peninsula will charm you with its view, people and quiet surroundings. I can just remember how relax I was by just thinking about it.

The Samson crane barge at Ardmore in the County of Waterford

In 1987, off the coast of Waterford, pushed by the Gael, a massive crane barge from Liverpool crashed along the cliffs. Dangerous pollutants were removed soon after the barge went aground and the 2 men aboard were rescued so naturally, instead of removing the remains, why wouldn’t we make history? I suppose we have more to follow […]

Links to search for a mid to long term accommodation in Ireland

I’ve been suggested to translate this article in English as it has helped thousands to search up mid to long term accommodation already. Suggestion and preparation: Ireland is famous for its housing crisis. Let’s consider it as part of the culture. I recommend not to be too specific in your search terms as this drastically […]

Professors Curioso and Saci 2018

This video depicts a series of games between Professor Curioso and Professor Saci during “Inspiraçao” the Afro-Brazil Festival 2018 in Cork. This is the Cork Camará Batizado festival. More info on: What is Capoeira ? http://capoeiracork.com https://www.facebook.com/CapoeiraCork/

Streets of Cork

Cork has a vibe. Between the remains of this ageing harbour and the attempts to keep it as a cultural hotspot, the life in this town suddenly becomes timeless.

Cork, sky, streets and river

I have found these view from Cork sad, dark, but also joyful and restful.

Blackrock Castle – Cork city

Let’s make a quick tour in the area of Cork, where a small but noticeable fortification has now been converted to an Observatory. Ideally reached with a bicycle, this castle has a restaurant as well and the coastal walk is actually beautiful.

UCC and surroundings

Cork without the University College could be like Harry Poter without Hogwarts or The Shining without the Overlook hotel…. lame wouldn’t it be? Anyway I leave these photos and will walk later on the other side of the city.

10 years of Capoeira for Mundo Ireland

Here is a short 12 minutes video of the last Mundo Capoeira team. The 10th anniversary celebrations took place in Dublin, Ireland in February 2018. People from Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Greece, Netherland, and believe me or not Ireland as well … (Cork, Mullingar, …) met for a very short workshop in order to make sure […]

Sheep Head – West Cork – Ireland

The walk doesn’t take too long on the way in. The view feels limitless but plan more time on the way back if you take the other way, the difficulty is not the same.

In the heart of Donegal – Ireland

Slowly giving away some secrets of this magical location situated in the north of Ireland, may I share here some snaps taken away from the coast of Donegal. The scenario is unreal, a Castle, nearly no-one around, a dramatic sky, it’s too warm for a winter, … These were taken in December. Living these seems remote […]

Ghugan Barra – County Cork – Ireland

Discretely standing in the middle of the Gaelic area in the west side of County Cork, Ghugan Barra is a cute reserve and a perfect place to walk and appreciate the riversides away from the coasts.

Fota – Cork – Ireland

Between a Parc and a reserve, Fota is a perfect occasion to go out. I’m not defending it but the area is often sunny and quiet. This feel specially less oppressive of the inhabitant. You will also be surprised by the mix of animals.

Dublin – Ireland

Quick round the in European Hipster’s headquarter and beloved city: Dublin
